Bing Maloney Golf Course

This was our second Carmichael Golf Club (CGC) event at Bing Maloney in 2022 – good prices, early starting times in the Summer months, and in recent years good course conditions and a very playable layout.
We caught a break weather-wise on this day – after our first prolonged stretch of 100-degree days in 2022 in the Sacramento area, and another predicted hot stretch in the coming 7-10 days, on this day temperatures didn’t reach 90. Early breezes gave way to a gentle and wonderful day for golf. We’re sure the weather played a role in the quality of golf on this day! The 24 players were in good spirits, and it showed in the scoring. The group had the best scoring average in a CGC event so far in 2022, with scores on average 7 strokes lower than each of the previous 3 CGC events. The par 4’s at Bing proved the most challenging, with the good scores generally coming from playing the par 3’s and par 5’s well.
Six (6) of the 24 players shot a score less than net par 72, with 5 other players shooting
net par. Three (3) players shot scores of net 80 or higher.
The Flight winners on this day were as follows:
1st: Errol Thomas, net 69 (by 1 stroke over Gary Phillips)
2nd: Mike Neff, net 67 (by 4 strokes over Sherry Aceituno)
3rd: Lora Wade, net 64 (by 6 strokes over Mike Agrippino)
